Public Witness and Faithful Citizenship-Archbishop Chaput
Archbishop Chaput has posted this article on his weekly column October 18, 2012. He discusses the duty a Catholic citizen to vote, and to vote using their Catholic-formed conscience.
"As a result, if we believe that a particular issue is gravely evil and damaging to society, then we have a duty, not just a religious duty but also a democratic duty, to hold accountable the candidates who want to allow that evil. Failing to do so is an abuse of responsibility on our part, because that’s where we exercise our power as citizens most directly — in the voting booth."

Does Planned Parenthood perform Mammograms?
NO, but they do perform abortions. During the Presidential Debate it was stated that defunding Planned Parenthood, would take away women’s rights to free mammograms. Home Depot also promoted homosexuality in the military. This month Home Depot set up a booth at the Atlanta Gay Pride festival. They have done this for many years and continue to support events that push "gay" marriage. Posted on the back of the Home Depot float was a huge sign promoting OutServe. OutServe is a national organization promoting homosexuality in the military, including FORCING chaplains to conduct same-sex weddings on military bases. AFA is promoting a boycott of Home Depot until it agrees to remain neutral in the homosexual culture war. Sign their petition at http://action.afa.net/item.aspx?id=2147496231 Pray: this week for Michigan, Nevada and Virginia. May each citizen, each voter listen for God’s words of wisdom which speaks to each heart as they do their civic duty and vote.
FAST: Our suggestions are to eat no meat, and do no snacking on your fast day or do the fasting suggested by God in Isaiah 58:7 “share your bread with the hungry.” Eat less at home and donate that food to a local food pantry.
ACTION: Please choose to support Hobby Lobby or boycott Home Depot or do both.

Standing up for Religious Freedom
Sunday was a bit on the drizzly side, and a bit cool. About 150 people showed up for the Rally, but we were resolute in our desire to be there, to stand up for our faith and our RIGHT to live our faith. Four members of St. Michael's Parish attended.
The foundational Right is the right to live. The foundational Freedom is the freedom to live one's faith.
To help others understand WHY this issue is so important to Christians, and especially Catholics, it is important to study and research. The congregation of St. Michael's has been challenged to take some time to understand the problem, and to study the law. So, these links seemed like a good idea:
